NINA PAVLOVSKI graduated from The Opera
Academy in Copenhagen studying with prof. Kim
Borg. Further studies with Galina
Vishnevskaya in Paris and professor Kirsten
Buhl Møller, Copenhagen.
She made her opera debut in 1993 at The
Danish National Opera (Die Walküre), and in 1996
at The Royal Opera in Copenhagen (title role
in "Madama Butterfly"). From 1997 as a
soloist in the ensemble roles here include a.o. :
Donna Anna, Liù and Alice Ford in
Verdi's "Falstaff".
Nina Pavlovski has performed all over Europe, in
Russia, South America and Japan. She has worked
with conductors like
Serge Baudo, Michael Schönwandt, , Giancarlo
Andretta, Walther Weller, Mathias Aeschbacher,
Dietfried Bernet, Tamas Vetö, Christian Badea,
Giordano Belincampi, Francesco Cristofoli
and Kent Nagano
With maestro Mstislav Rostropovich and The
St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Nina
Pavlovski sang the title role in Dmitri Shostakovich
original version of the opera "Lady Macbeth from
Mtsensk" in St.Petersborg & Moscow
She has been singing Tosca since 2001 -
recently in a renowned production at Opera North
by American director Christopher Alden.
Recent engagements include the parts of Giorgetta
in Il Tabarro and the title role in Francesca da
Rimini by Rachmaninov directed by the
English director David Pountney. In January
2006 she returned to the Royal Opera in Copenhagen
to do Rosalinde in a new production of The
Bat in the new Copenhagen Opera House.
The discography includes a.o. The End of Time
by Rued Langgaard with
Gennady Rozhdestvensky
and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra/DR and a
CD of Shostakovich songs, and Kundry in
Wagner's Parsifal with Odense Symphony
Orchestra and Wolf-Dieter Hauschildt.
Nina Pavlovski has received several prizes a.o.
The Aksel Schiøtz Prize in 2000 and The
Lumbye Prize in 2002.
